Huawei MediaPad tablet with 10.7-inch display on the way
« on: March 06, 2019, 07:14:27 AM »

Just over a year after the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro tablet was introduced, new evidence found by the folks over at XDA Developers suggests Huawei is working on a new version of its most expensive tablet.

Codenamed ‘CRM2,’ the upcoming device is expected to hit shelves later this quarter as the Huawei MediaPad M6 Pro. It’ll reportedly feature a large 10.7-inch LCD display which offers a 2560 x 1600p resolution, just like the soon-to-be-replaced MediaPad M5 Pro.

On the inside, it seems as though Huawei will swap out the Kirin 960 chipset for the newer Kirin 970. For reference, this is the same processor found inside the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro. It should then be paired with at least 4GB of RAM and a minimum storage count of 64GB. Nevertheless, a version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of RAM is likely.

Elsewhere, the MediaPad M6 Pro looks set to include a 13-megapixel rear camera that'll apparently be supplied by either Sony or OmniVision. The tablet is also expected to debut with Android 9 Pie paired with EMUI 9, and a battery of around 7,500mAh. There's currently no word on the device's selfie camera.

Considering the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro wasn’t released until April, there’s a strong possibility Huawei will unveil its next-gen tablet later this month at its Paris event. Here, the Chinese brand is also expected to announce the Huawei P30 & P30 Pro, and the P30 Lite.
