Motorola is gearing up to launch another lineup of mid-range devices, but those who only shop for flagship phones won't be forgotten either. Moto Z4 Play and Moto P40 are two mid-tier phones that Motorola is expected to unveil pretty soon.

The Moto P40 is the sequel to the P30, a smartphone launched in China last year and released later on in the United States as Motorola One Power. Although the P30 and One Power are basically the same device specs-wise, the P40 might be released with different hardware configurations depending on the region.

Motorola could soon launch its first smartphone powered by a Samsung processor
The unannounced P40 recently popped up at Geekbench, an inexhaustible source of information for tech-savvies, but not entirely reliable. Anyway, from what we've been able to learn, it appears that Motorola plans to use a different name for the smartphone in the United States One Vision.

The phone won't be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor that's been rumored to power the P40, but an Exynos 9610 CPU, the same packed inside the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy A50.

The phone is listed as Motorola One Vision and, as expected, will include 6GB RAM to go together with the Exynos 9610 chipset. If the information proves to be accurate, this would be Motorola's first smartphone to pack a Samsung processor.

This looks like a rather peculiar choice for Motorola, which usually goes for Qualcomm processors. Even Samsung uses Snapdragon CPUs insides its flagships sold in the US, while international models come with Exynos chipsets. In any case, take this with a grain of salt since these benchmarks listed on Geekbench can be easily rigged.
