Honor 20 Pro receives Google certification
« on: June 19, 2019, 06:56:04 AM »

The Honor 20 Proís launch has been on hold ever since the smartphone was first announced last month. But now it seems as though the company can finally proceed with the deviceís distribution.

The flagship offering's release was initially planned for early July. However, the brandís inability to obtain the necessary certifications from Google threw an unexpected wrench into the works and ultimately forced the company to indefinitely delay the launch. Nevertheless, after four weeks of trying, one Italian website is now reporting that the Honor 20 Pro has finally been certified by Google.

A new release date for the device hasn't yet been announced, but a launch in mid-July seems very possible at this point. After all, Honor previously pushed back its marketing campaigns for the flagship by a couple of weeks to the end of June Ė they were initially expected to kick off this week. This timeline is further backed up by an email sent out today by the brand which says an international launch will happen "soon."

As reported by Bloomberg yesterday, Huawei is closely monitoring demand for the Honor 20 series at the moment. The standard model is set to go on sale globally this coming Friday, June 21st, but if things don't go to plan the company could pull the plug on the smartphone entirely.
