One day after T-Mobile revealed where exactly it will launch its 5G services, Verizon announced new details about its own 5G network coverage. At the moment, the Big Red flipped the switch on 5G service in just two US cities Chicago and Minneapolis. Of course, 5G service will only be available in certain areas in these cities, as Verizon can't cover them in their entirety.

Anyway, it appears that Verizon plans to expand its 5G network coverage to two new locations in the US: Denver and Providence. The carrier confirmed today that its 5G Ultra Wideband Network is now live in select areas of Denver and starting July 1, its 5G service will be available in select areas of Providence.

Naturally, you'll need one of the four 5G-enabled smartphones to be able to access Verizon's 5G network: LG V50 ThinQ 5G, Moto Z3 and Z4 combined with 5G moto mod, and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.

Verizon claims that businesses and consumers in those cities should expect typical download speeds of 450 Mbps, with peak speeds of above 1.5Gbps. Now, if you live in Denver, Verizon's 5G service will be available in areas of Highlands, South of 37th between Tejon and Navajo Streets. The 5G network will also cover LoDo and areas around Coors Field.

Furthermore, customers will also have 5G service in the Central Business District around iconic landmarks like the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Sculpture Park, and outside Paramount Theatre. Areas of Capitol Hill and Northern Sections of The Denver Tech Center will also have Verizon 5G service.

For those living in Providence, Verizon's 5G network will cover parts of College Hill, Federal Hill, Mt. Hope and landmarks like Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design and Providence College.

Verizon is expected to bring 5G service to more cities by the end of 2019 including: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Des Moines, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Little Rock, Memphis, Phoenix, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Washington, DC.
