OnePlus' most expensive phone stars in official video
« on: October 11, 2019, 11:57:19 AM »
Earlier today, we told you that OnePlus had introduced the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition. This is the manufacturer's most premium handset and features a whopping 12GB of memory along with 256GB of storage. It carries a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate for buttery smooth scrolling and animation. The handset is powered by the overclocked Snapdragon 855+ with an enhanced Adreno 640 GPU that delivers up to 15% performance boost. On the back of the phone is a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP telephoto camera, and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The 4085mAh battery charges to 70% in just 30 minutes thanks to a faster Warp charging system. The phone is equipped with a special protective case made of carbon fiber and Alcantara. The latter is an Italian made fabric found in the interior of McLaren's high-end sports cars.

OnePlus today released a new product video for the OnePus 7T Pro McLaren Edition. The video shows how the phone's Papaya Orange highlights match the color of a McLaren sports car from 50 years ago. The voice-over announcer says, "OnePlus and McLaren entered into this partnership to create a premium device by pushing design and performance." OnePlus says that it always uses top of the line specs for the McLaren Edition and that appears to be true this year as well. It features Qualcomm's most powerful chipset at the moment, and matches the largest amount of memory offered on a smartphone this year.

Of course, premium phones also carry premium price tags. The OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition costs 859 (equivalent to $946.36 USD) making this the priciest OnePlus phone ever. It still is cheaper than the Apple iPhone 11 Pro and about the same price as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. But for those used to the low cost of OnePlus phones, looking at the price of this model is apt to cause sticker shock. The model will be released on November 5th, but might not be made available in the U.S.
